    Hi All
We are doing an up-rez of a film trailer from SD to HD. We are using a 29.97 D-Beta master to overcut the trailer then a 24fps HD master to up-rez to HD. Due to budget resraints we cannot just overcut in DVCPRO HD which would be ideal as we are renting the HD deck. Is there away we can use the 29.97 D-Beta project and then batch capure the required HD media and still have it be the exact same footage. Basically, is the timecode of the D-Beta tape and HD tape going to be progressively different as the tape moves forward, is there a procedure to get around this?
    cheers

SO the Digibeta is a dub of the HD master? Then just capture the digibeta at 29.97, then reverse telecine it to 23.98. Edit that. The timecode should easily match back.

Yeah i have been told the D-Beta tape TC matches the HD tape. So it would be a straight swap in swap out all we would have to do is change the sequence settings from SD to HD once the batch is finished?

You’d use the Media Manager to create a new project for the sequence that would then only capture the footage used in the timeline, with handles. Handles are recommended in case you need to slip a shot a few frames in either direction.
