http://www.nattress.com. The Standards converter. The Film Converter plugin converts NTSC to 24P.

Is it possible to convert 29.97 clips to 23.98 using cinema tools?

Only if it was shot 24PA to begin with. Otherwise it will pull out frames that weren’t meant to be pulled out, and it will look stuttery. Standards Converter by nattress is really the only way to convert it well.

    Shane,

Sorry to keep hitting you with more questions. I should have included more detail in my original post.

But I just want to be clear: I have to log 29.97 footage from a VHS tape for inclusion in a DVCPRO50 23.98 Advanced pulldown anamorphic sequence.

I guess another question of mine is how should I capture the VHS footage?- as DVCPRO or DVCPRO50.

    Thanks,
    Jack

Capture it with the same setting that you are working with…DVCPRO 50 at 23.98. But don’t expect it to look all that good.

You might need standards conversion from nattress.com to make it convert to 23.98 smoothly

in your last post you said, “You might need standards conversion from nattress.com to make it convert to 23.98 smoothly”

If I am going to use Standard Conversion- should i capture the VHS footage as 29.97 DVCPRO50 and let standard conversion make it 23.98?

Thanks again- this is very helpful.
