  • 25p capture – 50i sequence?

Posted by Callan Thomas on May 5, 2013 at 10:43 am

My iMac is struggling to capture 50P. I have tried 25P for a project in the past, but because delivery is to a interlaced projector, the 25P image was very choppy and slow. So I think I need a 50fps image.
My question is can i capture at 25p (which my imac can handle) and output to 50i? Do I do this in a 50i sequence? What would be the best workflow?

    Thank!

The p25 stuff will work without problems on any i50 sequence.
The picture will always look more choppy because you have half of the pictures per second.

    Thanks Rafael.
So to workflow – I’m capturing DVCPRO HD 720p25.
Should drop the footage onto a DVCPRO HD 50 timeline? Or do I need to convert the footage? Thanks for your help.

Just drop it on the time-line and edit.
