25fps with 60fps
Hey editors.
i have a question.
i wait for a footage from both cameras.
5d and canon c300 (for the same project both)the 5d footage is 1920×1080 25fps and from c300 is 1920×1080 at 60fps for slow mo.
i wonder with what settings must be the editing
i think i will do in 25fps but i m afraid that the 60fps footage it will be ”flickering”or something..
what s your opinion?And finally for matching it will be ok the color match ?any other idea?

I upload to Vimeo regularly and use the Mainconcept 1080 for Internet option. I then increase the max and average bit rate so it’s closer to the bitrate of my original video footage, and lastly I enable two-pass rendering.
After you upload, you want to go into the video settings on Vimeo and enable 1080, since uploads default to 720 (not sure if all users have this option, but I have a Vimeo Pro account).
My Vimeo videos look fantastic by doing the above.

I think you need to buy 2 NTSC cameras or 2 PAL cameras but mixing PAL and NTSC is a recipe for disaster. Yes, something is not going to look good. If you are delivering 25fps then your project should be 25fps and your 60p footage will be delivered as 25fps. You will probably have to disable resample so that Vegas Pro drops frames instead of blending them.

thnks john finally the footage from c300 is 50fps.
i put both cameras (25fps and 50fps) into a project(25fps)
and with disable resample on c300(50fps) i think its good.
i renter it on 25fps. -

That makes more sense. Disable resample will cause Vegas Pro to drop every other frame to bring the 50fps down to 25fps and that’s exactly what you want. If you do use any slo motion you might want to re-enable resample to smooth things out. You’ll just have to try it both ways and see which looks better.

I have used twixtor and its great, but i always disable resample because when I left it on, i can see some “ghosting”on my videos after rendering. (My usual video is about cars, cars racing or drifting, so there is always a lot of motion)

That’s the correct procedure because Twixtor is providing the smoothing between the frames so you don’t want Vegas Pro doing it which is why you should disable resample in that case. Since Antonis is just using Vegas Pro, enabling resampling will blend the slo-mo frames while disabling it will drop frames. Sometimes the blending looks good and dropping frames looks jerky and sometimes blending it gets all “ghosty” and dropping frames looks perfectly fine. It all depends on how much you slow it down. Since the original footage was 50p it should slow down by 50% to 25p quite nicely.
