25 fps to 18 fps
An originally Film with 18 fps was transferred wrongly onto video with 25 fps.
It runs too fast and sounds unreal. How can I convert the 25 fps video back to original speed?
In PAL and with the sound simultanesly? Frank -

No, it was transferred right.
It now has a 1:1 frame relation, instead of a lot of non-existant ‘made up’ frames.
And afaik, 18 fps never had sound, so it has been re-edited already, making it very unclear what the ‘correct’ speed should be.There are several ways to get back to the original speed, but it highly depends on your output format.
I’ve done it with a 18 FPS movie by giving each frame an extra field, thus ending up with 27 FPS. Not perfection, but close enough.
(mind you, back then 18 fps was ‘average’, could be 15, could be 21, depending on the quality of the cam / operator)But if you render for Internet / computer display, just set the playback FPS to 18 and you’re done.
