I have never in 11 years of NLE editing seen this-

    Our system is

    FCP 5.1.2
    Dual G5 2.7 4gig RAM
    Storage HUGE scsi RAID
Black Magic Dual link HD card

I am editing in the DVCPRO 720p24p easy Setup with the video playback set to Black Magic HDTV 59.94 since we don’t have an HD monitor and this project is being downcoverted to digibeta at the end.

    Project
    720p24p shot on the HVX-200
    Used Red Rock adapter

    Timeline is
    HD 960 x 720
    Compresser is DVCPRO 720p60
    Audio is 48.0 16 bit

    Audio setting on set were
    48.0 k 24 bit

I edited this project. Because the DP used the Red Rock adapter everything was shot upside down-so before I began I had to take each clip and flip 180 degrees.

Everything was going great. We then went in and added filters some non-FCP and other like basic color correction.

I have the RT turned to Safe and the playback is Dynamic-so things need to be rendered. When I turn the RT to Unlimited, you get they orange line and again you have to render the unlimited.

So here is what happens. You take a linked clip with audio and video on the clip-the mic was plugged into the camera on set. (they are P2 clips that have been converted to quicktimes in the P2 import) put it in your timeline. Plays fine. If you add even one filter to it and either render for safe RT or render for unlimited RT the playback is one frame off. So I have to unlink the clip and move the audio one frame forward. If you take the filter off and replay the clip you have to move the audio back to its original position.

We have done tons of HD projects like this that eventually get downcoverted and I have never seen anything like it.

The only difference in this one is the fact that I had to flip every clip 180 before editing. Could that be it or is it a bug with 5.1.2. We just did the upgrade a few months ago from apples site.

    This one has me stumped.
