24P under NTSC Format?
Dear All,
I was just using EX-3 and surprise to see that they put 24P under NTSC format which is, with my little knowledge should be alltogether different from PAL/NTSC.
As I see this should not come under any PAL/NTSC, as 24P is just a film base format where PAL/NTSC is more depend on country specification (With relations to their electrical supply also).
If anyone wants to put any light on this, I will be obliged.

Hi Virendra,
Welcome to Creative COW.
The flavour of 24p found in the PMW EX series of cameras is not exactly 24 frames a second, but is in fact 23.976 fps. which is based on NTSC formats. That’s why it’s found under the NTSC listings in the camera menu.

thanks for this. I should’ve know this. It just happen that I miss that on one of the recent shoot & shot every on 25P so editor could at least be close th required 24P.

It shouldn’t be a huge problem going from 25p to 23.976. Conforming 29.97 (or 30p) to 23.976 is worse. Good luck with your project.
