I’m looking for a good way to convert 24fps to 25fps for a PAL DVD.

I like the idea of using Cinema Tools to conform, but I have to keep the audio intact since it’s a music video.
    What’s the best workflow here..

Go straight to 25 by repeated frames?
Go straight to 25 by adding fields? Making it interlaced?
Go to 60i and then down to 25?

    Any ideas very appreciated.

There’s more than just a frame rate involved here for starters.

Try using the advanced format conversions in Compressor for the job, or https://www.nattress.com sells a dandy conversion plugin.

In any event go right from one format to the other, do it as a single re-compression.

Hi Jerry, I tried Nattress, but I got pretty poor results with the 24p to PAL+1 setting. I put the HDV file in a Pal timeline, Nest, Load the sourceclip, 24p to PAL+1, and render out progressive 16:9. I read something about Nattress using fields instead of frames during the conversion, and it sounds good, but I’m just not getting any good results??

I’d think you’d get better results if you don’t nest the HDV in a sequence. Just go from the native sequence setting to the format you want to end up with.
