A short student film was shot on a CanonXL2 in 24p. How can i view the footage while editing on a regular NTSC monitor that doesn’t show 16:9 and how do I output the finished project to show also?

    Thanks

24p shot footage on that camera is really 29.97 with one of two pulldown patterns. Was it 24p advanced or just plain 24p? If you capture the footage as 29.97 it will show up on any monitor from either format, however if it’s ALSO 16:9 anamorphic, you HAVE to have an anamorphic monitor to see it “unstretched”… otherwise, you can put the anamorphic footage in a non anamorphic sequence, render each cut and see it letterboxed on a non 16:9 monitor… or just get used to streched…

If you want to truly work in 24fps all the way you have to tell us which mode the footage was shot in… 24p or 24pa?
