Anyone want to weigh in on the advantages of the two 24p modes on the XL2? I know that they have the 2:3 pulldown mode which is ideal if you plan to putting out to film. They also have the 2:3:3:2 mode if you want to just edit the footage in 30 frame mode. I plan on editing this in FCP 5 but wonder if I should shoot in 2:3 mode just to keep my options open. FCP should have no problem with digitizing footage shot in 2:3 mode, right? I believe I saw a set-up in FCP for 24p footage. Anyone?

It’s far easier to answer all your questions by pointing you to the very informative article below:

Just insert the camera name “XL2” where it says “DVX100A”. The workpath is exactly the same, even in FCP5.

Thanks! That article was very helpful. I should have thought to check with Megaguru Ken Stone in the first place. I think I’m on the right path now.

Nice link to Ken Stone site. However, is there a PAL version of this 24p tutorial?
