I’m in a high school broadcasting class and sometime we do short movies. When we export it for all the class we use 30p. However my camera have a 24p frame rate and I was just wondering if I shoot it in 24p can I still get that filmic look even though when they export it to broadcast it’s actually 30p

you’ll end up with a duplicate frame every 5th frame and that may make playback seem a little jerky.

generally speaking, you’re best to shoot and work at the same frame rate as you are delivering… so since the destination is 30p, you’re probably best off to shoot and edit in 30p.

24p really only looks more ‘filmy’ if it can be played out at 24p. once it has to meet broadcast standards, you’ll get better results with 30p.
