24P & iMac
shoot HDV 24P with Sony V1U.
edit with FCP 6 on iMac ’07.good idea or bad idea?

HDV files I believe are smaller than DV so it’s fine. The worst part of it will be the conform process before you edit back to tape. Desktop processors will definitely be able to perform this faster than the iMac. Other than that, that format is fine on the iMac.
