I’m going to upload some footage from about two years ago. However, I can’t remember if I shot it 24p or 24pa. Is there a way to find this out so when I choose a format in FCP I have the correct format? Thanks.

Why not just capture some and try removing the advanced pulldown during the capture. If it works OK, it was PA…

Find a piece of fast movement and have a look at the cadence.
If it is 4 frames progressive followed by one frame interlaced, it’s PA. If not, it’s P.

How do I “remove advanced pulldown during the capture”? Thanks.

    From the online manual:

Choose or create a capture preset that has the “Remove Advanced Pulldown and/or Duplicate During Capture From FireWire Sources” checkbox selected. This checkbox is available when you edit a capture preset in the Capture Preset Editor window (accessible from the Capture Presets tab of the Audio/Video Settings window).

Duplicate video fields are discarded during capture, resulting in a 24p (23.98 fps) media file on disk after capture.
