24p effect in Vegas??
I rave about Vegas constantly, especially when compared to Avid Xpress. However, in addition to having a much better titling tool, support for Boris plugins (and others), and playing sound out with firewire preview…. it has one effect that Vegas seems to be missing: 24p conversion of 60i video. Avid has the “Fluidfilm pulldown” effect that does a very nice job of converting 60i video to 24p cadence. I have 30 minutes worth of symphony concert footage edited together that I want to apply this effect to. Right now I have to render an AVI, import into Avid, apply the effect, render effect (and HOPE I don’t get error messages), print effected video to tape, capture in Vegas, and apply to timeline. I’ve read that some say to change the “undersample rate” on the clip to .8 and turn on “reduce interlace flicker.” Another setting to change would be the clip properties to progressive. But this produces very bad unusable results. There has to be an actual effect that would do this. Anyone have any clues about this? Thanks!
