footage shot in 24 p on a sony pd170 , the final project is done but i want to do the conversion without having to send this out for 400 dollars to be converted to ntsc.
i heard fcp 5 can do this or is it that compressor 2 does this ?

anybody working in this have any ideas.
what would be the set in fcp 5 or compressor to do this.

    thanks

The Sony DSR PD170 doesn’t have a 24p mode, so you better double check what the actual frame rate your footage is before you even start capturing in FCP or you’re going to have editing issues.

Compressor 2 apparently has the option to convert NTSC to PAL, or you can buy Graeme Nattress’s standards conversion plugin for FCP here:

Buying Nattress filters is always a very good investment.
