24p Compressor Export Video / Audio Synch Issue
Hey everyone, first post here and it’s a good one. I have been working in a sequence in FCP 4.5. It is set for 24p and 16:9. When I view the timeline playback in FCP everything is PERFECT. But when I export the clip through Compressor the exported mp2 clip runs slightly faster than the exported audio, and this slowly causing a synch issue in my DVD. If I open the clip in Quicktime and look at the movie info I can see that the clip frame rate is set at 23.976 fps but it only plays at 23.5 fps. What gives? To note, when export as a quicktime movie in FCP the video runs fine, no synch issue.
I thought at first it was a settings issue – I am a student and other people use and abuse the machine I work on – but I can’t figure out what is set incorrectly. To be honest, it seems no matter how I set my audio/video settings I still get the same results. Then I thought it might be a pull down issue, but now I’m just stumped. The manual didn’t help, it just told me that compressor holds the frame rate during the encode. I also couldn’t find anything on the net. Any clues? Anyone seen this before?
