24p advanced to 60i in Vegas 6
Hi, all.
I’m making a short film that mixes 24p footage with 60i. I want the 60i stuff to stay looking interlaced (supposed to look like a home movie), so the final output needs to be 60i.
I shot the 24p stuff on an XL2 in advanced (2-3-3-2 pulldown) mode, just to be safe, ’cause I know you can convert advanced pulldown to regular 24p (3-2) pulldown but can’t go the other way.
I’m at the last stages of the film, but the 24p footage isn’t rendering out correctly. I either get a slight ghosting/trailing during movement, or I get a more stuttery movement that seems to somehow lack motion blur, depending on the different settings I used.
So. . .I need to know, in Vegas 6, the steps needed to get from raw camera footage in 24p advanced to 60i footage (that still looks like 24fps, of course) for final output. Can someone walk me through it? I thought I had it right, but not so much, apparently. Thanks.
