First of all, I am a total newbie to FCP, so it’s entirely likely I’m doing something wrong…
I am capturing footage shot with a dvx100 in 24 advance mode into my laptop (powerbook g4, FCP 5, 160 gig Lacie D2 firewire drive). Most of the footage is coming in fine, except for the ends of the tapes. After capturing, I see that the frame rate for these clips is 29.97, while everything else is 23.98. I had been capturing the entire tapes using CAPTURE NOW, so I’m not sure why this footage would be any different. I was able to recapture one of the clips in the right frame rate – it said removing advance pulldown while capturing- but the other one is refusing. I keep getting a message that reads “a break in the VFR/Pulldown cadence has aborted the last capture attempt”. The trouble spots do come after time code breaks, but there have been many others with no problems. I have it set to make a new clip at timecode breaks.
    I hope that’s all clear.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Tom
