24p (23.98) playout to HDCAM @ 29.97psf or 59.97i
Hi all,
I’m struggling to understand something. I have a sequence at 23.98. My Kona card is set to output 59.97i, using 2:3:2:3 pattern. There are two modes available on the HDCAM deck 29.97 psf, and 59.97i. What I dont understand is why i can spot the pulldown by finding a cut that lands on two fields belonging to one frame (When i use the psf option), but when using the 59.97 option, the cuts land perfectly on frame boundaries… Can anyone explain?-James

You cant go 23.98p to 29.97 psf. Use 1080i easy setup
Or set your video output to 1080i29.97
