I need to convert an animation mov from 24 fps (yes 24 and not 23.976) to 29.97 fps for broadcast.

I was wondering if there are any advantages in doing it in AE vs Adobe Media Encoder. The Media Encoder method is way faster. Anyways here’s my workflow:

    In AE:
1- Import 24p footage and Interpret Footage as 23.976 fps
2- Add comp to render cue and set Field Render to Upper Fields First and set 3:2 pull Down Pattern to WWSSW
3- Sound is Done in ProTools
4- Merge sound and pic back using QT Pro then output as self contained

    or

    In Media Encoder:
1- Import file and set output to the right Frame rate…that’s it

Will both method yielded a proper 29.97 file ??? Thanks
