Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy 24fps Question

    Something Im confused on;

    If I shot 1920 x 1080 in a camera setting of 24p — and during log and transfer it comes out 23.98, was the preset supposed to be at 24 like I thought it was? Or did FCP default it to 23.98? The intended output is not for film. I just wanted a “film look” to the video for DVD production of a play. I’ve already transferred 2.5 hours footage. I don’t want to log n transfer it again, but does it be converted in some way at this point to match what the camera shot. Camera was a Canon AVDHD Vixia HF-G20.

    Thanks!

    24p is 23.98. Video 24fps is 23.98. Only film is really true 24. Sure, there are some cameras like the RED and Alexa that can shoot 24, but that is to allow for the feature film distribution model of true 24fps. broadcast 24p is 23.98.
