24fps and 25fps confusion
Hello,
I hope this time the problem of 25fps and 24fps will be solved. Previously I was using video camcorders. There things are clear: 25p is for PAL (Europe), 24p for USA. But how is it with cine cameras? Do the cinema projectors in Europe have 25 fps and cinema projectors in USA 24fps? This is important, since film prepared for a film festival or just to be sold, should be prepared in proper fps and it could depend on target market. I would be grateful for help.

The same frame rate distinctions hold true for film as video; generaly in countries where the electricity is 50Hz the film and video is shot at 25fps, where the electricity is 60HZ it’s 24fps. These speeds have implications when shooting in discontinuos light sources (like fluorescents) and as regards the timing and length of the finished projects. Suffice it to say that when 25fps films are shown in 24fps counties and visa-versa the only real fifference is the running time.
