    Hi,

does anyone know of a plugin which makes 24 – style (as in the tv show) motion easy? I mean when there are several streams of video on the screen at once, moving around etc. I know there is a plugin which does this (I know it’s straightforward in FCP – just time consuming), I just can’t remember the name! Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Fred

The one you’re looking for is from Digital Heaven, I think its called “Boxes.”

Thanks, but that’s not exactly the one I wanted. I need one with more control over multiple streams. Any other ideas?

Layering them and adjusting the MOTION tab info (Center, Scale) too much? That is what I do, and it is pretty easy. And depending on drive speed, real time.

[fredsters_s] “I need one with more control over multiple streams.”

I’m not certain what you mean. Multiple streams are going to have to be contolled individually, or you can cut and paste parameters from the motion controls or DH Box to additional layers. Did you check out the DH Box demo video? Its a pretty cool plugin.

Sorry, I didnt clarify what I meant; to control more than one track at once. I have seen this plugin in use before…but I don’t know its name. The DH Box plugin was useful, but it’s not exactly what I want.

Shane, I know you from the Apple boards; please don’t patronise me.

I’m not trying to patronize you. I am saying that it is rather easy to do. I just have a bad rep.

The only plugin I know of is the one David pointed out.

I realise its easy to do for a single track. What is not easy and is time consuming is if you are editing an hour long show with heavy usage of these effects…

    Dude,

You’re NOT being clear as to what you’re trying to accomplish. We’re here to help, but you can’t be defensive about the advice you’re getting.

There is no magic plugin to “make it all good”. It requires time and attention to detail, and that means adjusting each “stream” individually.

Firstly, Im no noob. Secondly, if i think someone is being patronising, I would not class that as being defensive. I know there is a plugin which does this…I just need to know the name. If you dont know, then dont say anything!

You can make a photoshop doc full of white boxes and use track mattes, but that will cause all sorts of rendering.
