24 fps
Hello all,
Thanks beforehand for your time. I am currently onlining a short shot on 16mm that was cut in 24 fps. The original film was transfered to DV 29.97. Looking at the master clips in the offline I am noticing that every 5th frame of time code is missing. As well all the clips are 24 fps as is the sequence. I am guessing the offline editor used cinema tools to reverse telecine the DV 29.97 but when I tried to do this it gave me clips that were 24 fps but the time code was consistent from 0 to 23 frames. As well I’m still getting the “blur” that comes from a 3:2 pulldown when a video frame consists of two fields that are from different film frames. I do have a small understanding of the 3:2 pulldown process but have little understanding of reversing this in Final Cut. An aquaintance has told me about frame offsetting but it has been awhile since he used it and can not remember the details as to how he made it work or where he set it. Could someone give me some guidance as to how I can batch dig and convert to 24 fps the original material properly so that I get rid of this frame blending.,
Thanks again for your help,
D’Arcy
