23.98psf in i59.94 seq. Add pulldown?
Posted by Mathieu Marano on May 17, 2010 at 4:40 pmI have a 1080PsF28.98 clip to place in a 1080i59.94 timeline. I tought Final Cut was able to add a 2:3:2:3 pulldown but I only get a A:B:C:D:D frame sequence so it’s stuttering. How can I quickly add a 2:3 pulldown in FCP?

May 17, 2010 at 5:01 pmIt’s gonna interlace but not add a pulldown. And the FieldsKit PullDown doesn’t seem to ba available anymore for FCP…or it’s not included in the Fieldskit bundle.
So no native FCP solutions?

Unfortunately, FCP doesn’t do it natively, or else you wouldn’t be asking this question.
Compressor can, but you have to export the clip.
Nattress has one too:

May 17, 2010 at 5:47 pmNattress is to be use with G Remove Pulldown. It’s to add the pulldown to a previously “unpulledowned” FX clip. It won’t add pulldown to a 23.98 native clip.
Well, here is an interesting feature request for the next release…
