23.98 to 25 – Duration Question
So we’ve got a show that we’re delivering in 23.98 but also have to deliver across seas, so yesterday we had our show converted from 23.98 to 25. Our original RT at 23.98 was 43:49. Obviously, I understand converting to 25 makes it a bit longer as it’s now looking like 43:51:16. Is there a way to get this to the original RT specified? I haven’t done hardly anything with PAL/25 conversions so any advice would be great.

Also, I got two QT files back one labeled “SLOWPAL_50i” and “50i_ALCHEMIST” Which one should I be using?

Wrong.
A proper time-base conversion should keep the same duration.
If the movie have been conformed from 23,98 to 25fps, the duration will be a 4,25% shorter.
You are not checking the duration with QT Player, don’t you?
