I have an editor who mistakenly began a sequence in 23.98 (source footage is XDCAM EX 23.98 but we are working in 29.97 timelines because of mixed frame rates and final delivery in 29.97 SD). When we take his timeline and copy it into a new 29.97 sequence, everything is not only out of sync, but in incorrect places.

Titles from V2 do not come in above the V1 layer where they are supposed to. They come in about 5 minutes earlier.

Stereo paired audio is split and one piece is in the correct place but the other is a 30 seconds ahead in timeline.

Almost all of the sync audio is out of sync but at all different rates (ie: not simply like 20 seconds out for all clips, but rather 20 seconds for one and different for others). Sometimes the audio is placed correctly, but it is audio from earlier in the take, and is then out of sync.

I thought that it might have been because the bit depth was going from 24 to 16, but after changing those settings that didn’t help.

Any ideas what might be going on?

    Thanks,
    Mike
