23.98 PSF sequence to 59.94i DF
Hi guys,
This may get confusing, but I will try to explain it the easiest way possible.
Project requirements are: under four minutes at 59.94i, 1080i.
They shot at 23.98 psf.
Edited and graded it at 23.98 psf.
Total sequence length was 5:00 mintues even.
We used a timecode calculator, as well as simple math to confirm that when we CONVERT 23.98PSF to 59.94i DF that it would work out to be 4:00 minutes(at 59.94i)However,
When we got it dubbed to 59.94i it was still the same length!
Does anyone know what happened?
Should we have dubbed 29.97 instead of 59.94?Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well, that was wrong. 5:00:00 NDF comes out to 5:00:08 DF. Not even after an hour are you a full minute off when converting NDF to DF.
What timecode calculator did you use?

Same thing. 59.94 represents FIELDS per second, that comes out to 29.97 frames per second. Unless we are talking 720p.
