The subject may be confusing but I have a scenario that I haven’t yet faced. I’m sure there is a work around but not a bad one.

I edited a project that was shot on HD F-900 at 24fps. It was then downconverted to 29.97 offline for editing. The final project needs to be 24fps.

Months later, they shot pickups on R3D 23.98fps. My sequence is 29.97. I know if I edit the 24fps R3D file onto the sequence, there will be a synch problem down the road or something else.

I’m currently using the log and transfer to convert it to AppleProResHQ 23.98.

Do I need to convert the 23.98 to 29.97? What would be the workflow?

I have Mac Pro 3.0 Dual Core.

    Thanks

You need to add pulldown. EIther buy a plug in for FCP (such as fields kit) or render pulldown in AE. If you have a Kona card, be sure to remove the AJA Uncompressed codec before rendering in AE.
