    Hi Cows,

I know I just asked this question.. But after taking the advice given to me, I still have questions.

I am working in 23.98 and the delivery is for a 59.94 Master that runs for 88 minutes.

I downloaded a TimeCode Calculator and put in,

    01:28:00:00 23.98 ND, it converted to 01:28:05;08 23.98 DF.

I then went into FCP and made a 88 minute slug and dropped it into a 23.98 ND timeline. It timed out at 01:28:00:00.

Then I dropped the same slug in a 59.94 DF timeline and got 01:28:05;20.

    Which is right?

I am thinking that I need to subtract the overage from the 23.98 (5 seconds & some frames) to get it to hit 88 perfectly.

    Is this right?

    thx,
    Chris

    Hi,

So now I am thinking that I need to ADD the overage from the 23.98 (5 seconds & some frames) to the 23.98 Non-Drop Timeline, get it to hit 88 on a 59.94 Drop Frame tape perfectly.

    thx!
    Chris

Is your sequence set to view 30 frames (60@30) or does it count up to 60?

If it counts up to 60, then right click on the time indicator and choose 60@30:

    Nope, I should subtract.

If you change the tc drop down menu to 60@30, the tc changes to 01:28:05;09

You just have 60 fps tc on your timeline which, as far as I know anyway, any deck that records 60p uses SMPTE 30 fps based tc.

You should not add or subtract anything.

Thanks for the info Dave! I think I got it figured out now.
