23.98 Import Plays as 29.98
My graphic artist has made me a credit roll with alpha channel in After Effects. The QuickTime she has sent me is 23.98 when I check its properties in QT player. I import it into FCP and it still says it’s 23.98. My Sequence Preset and Capture Preset are DVCPro HD 720p24. My Sequence Setting Editing Timebase is 23.98. Yet when I frame by frame the roll in the viewer and in the sequence I get 8 duplicated frames every seconds as if the file is truly 16fps and, of course, I get a stuttered roll. I’m at a complete loss. Anyone have any ideas?

try opening the clip in Cinema Tools and hitting “conform rate” and hit 23.98. QT gets buggy like that sometimes.
