I should know this but it hadn’t come up until recently:

Can you get a clean downconversion going from 23.98 1080 Psf HD to PAL through the Kona2 card? I do not have a PAL DBeta, so the output would go out analog to Beta-SP PAL. I am mainly concerned about how the speed change would affect audio. Going to NTSC is no problem.

I am going to try a test by changing the Easy Setup to 1080i 50fps and see if the Control Panel allows a PAL DC, but if anyone can suggest otherwise, I would be interested. I am trying to avoid renting an F500 for a lousy output and then sending out for the dub.

    Steve,

Use Cinema tools to conform 23.98 to 25 and then output and you should be fine. If you are worried about the speed up, you could use the Nattress standards conversion plug-in to go to 25 and you would only have a .1% speed change compared to a 4.1% change, however this process is going to take much longer depending on the length of your show. Hope this helps.

    Best Regards,
    Jeremy
