I’m new to editing on a 23.98 timeline. I think I’ve done it right – used an easy pre-set for 720p24, imported with “remove duplicates” checked. However, when I set up a new sequence (editing timbase 23.98) and drop a clip in, I have to render it to get it to play. The clip’s frame rate in the bin says 59.94fps. Is that right? Should it not say 23.98 for the frame rate?

I’ve read the Apple help files several times, and so far as I can tell, I should not have to render each clip as I edit.

This footage was shot on an HDX900 DVXPRO HD camera in 720p24 mode.

    Thank you for any hints.
