I’m trying to assist a production by trouble shooting their existing workflow for a 23.98 HDCam SR shoot.
They are using Sony SRW1 and Final Cut.They are taking audio from HDCam.

As I understand it there are two established offline editing workflows :
    a) Capture from HD out of deck via Decklink HD card whilst transcoding to a codec that is less storage hungry for offline all at 23.98
    b) Capture from SD downconvert from deck via Decklink SD card and work in 29.97,using cinema tools to convert the edl to 23.98 for conform.

Currently the production is mixing these :
    c) Capture from SD downconvert from deck via Decklink Pro SD card. The final cut is set to capture and edit at 23.98.This has caused audio synch to slip against picture so they are capturing audio in a second pass and this seems to synch up !?

I’m having trouble trying to fathom how the decklink is taking SD 29.97 downconvert and crunching it to the final cut 23.98 capture.
Any feedback would be fantastic as I urgently need to untangle this.
