Activity Forums Adobe Audition 23.976 timecode

I am using adobe audition 3.0.

In editing sound for an HD 23.976 fps movie, what are the correct timecode settings? I right clicked on the timecode, which offers 24 fps for film, which is not drop frame I assume. So then I went to preferences/general/custom time code display and entered 23.976, but then when I reopened the preferences window it is set to 23 fps. Is it keeping the 23.976?

If there’s no way of setting the timecode display to 23.976, what is the easiest workaround? To just edit in 24 and then reduce the final mixdown by .1%? I’m not sure if that would mean losing accuracy or quality. If I did this, would I need to make any changes to the quicktime movie I am scoring to, which is set at 23.976?

I’m also wondering if any of this even matters and if it’s merely the timecode display that changes, but keeps the audio the same. Which leads me to another question, does audition recognize the movie in the timeline as 23.976 or as 24?

    Thanks!
