Hello! I am trying to make a 2,35:1 cinemascope on my video. But premiere doesn’t have the widescreen option that FCP has. What kind of percentage would I have to crop to achieve the exact framing? I am editing in 4k RED.

I would edit in a sequence that matches the footage and crop on export.
You can use a matte to help you to adjust the footage.

    What Ann said.

I recently was wanting to achieve the same thing you are. After quite a lot of research I determined that what Ann said is exactly what you have to do. So for me, it was edit a 1920 x 1080 sequence (with temporary black bars on top and bottom for guidance) then export out 1920 x 816 file.

Here’s a Phillip Bloom tutorial on the subject.

Ah! I think you guys might have misunderstood me. I want the letterbox after export. It’s what my client wanted. So I am wondering what kind of percentage to crop with to achieve exactly 2,35:1 Letterbox.

Oh he want the whole frame.
Put a matte on the video in the timeline and export to 1920×1080.
