I am still having an issue that seems to have plagued many people on this message board. I wanted to know if any has come up with a solution.

When I place video in my drop zone, it just shows the first frame as a still.

    FCP X 10.2.2
    Generator built with Motion 5.2.2
    Ma OS 10.11.3

I get the last frame if it doesn’t work. If a clip isn’t long enough, then it automatically freezes the last frame. So it’s related to that.

Where you click on the clip gets mapped to the first frame of the drop zone, which is often not even visible in the template.

But lately that concept seems to have been thrown out the window, even though Motion and X haven’t been updated. I get the freeze quite a bit, even on my own designs were I know it shouldn’t be an issue.

    Hello and good day.

This is a bug that got introduced into Motion and FCPX. The workaround I had found until it works well again is this: https://support.motion-master-templates.com/article/13-syncing-video-inside-a-drop-zone

Please let me know if this helps and have an amazing day! 🙂

I tried my template again this time in another FCP x project and it seemed to work. The only difference is that I made sure to choose the first frame of the video in the browser for the drop zone. It played well..HOWEVER….

Now that that seems to be solved, the audio doesn’t play from the video.

Audio does not carry over with Motion templates nor for drop zone content. You need to do an audio-only connect edit and match it up.
