2 questions – recommended book and avid/fcp on same G4 laptop
Hi Folks,
Been cutting on FCP and Discreet edit, have an opportunity to learn AVID from one of my clients and would love to. Can anyone recommend a good book to read before I go in to their AVID room, and also, has anyone had a positive experience putting Xpress Pro on a G4 laptop (2 Gig RAM) that already has FCP on it? I’d like to have it on the G4 to practice with. Anything I need to know about dual booting, etc? THANKS!

I ran Avid on my Tibook G4 400 a few years ago and it was slugish. Now, I’ve had both Avid Xpro and FCP on by my G4 desktop and my current G5 with on problems at all. They are both way faster than the laptop and work great. Never any trouble running them both on the same machine.
