  • 2 Questions: Compressor/FCP issue… MacBook Pro question.

I have just recently purchased and began using the 15″ Macbook Pro 2.33ghz, 2GB RAM, 160 Gig HD… and purchased FCP 5.1.3 suite at the same time… I installed it all fine, and have been using it for the past few weeks.

I attempted to use Compressor for the first time recently and on every attempt to compress from FCP when Compressor looked to give a preview FCP shut itself down, causing the compression impossible to complete.

I’ve exported uncompressed files out of FCP and then compressed them successfully using Compressor on it’s own, but the problem remains that Compressor causes FCP to quit. Anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this? My FCP is running in Rosetta mode, not sure if that makes a difference, but thought it would be possible helpful info.

2nd question: Is there any settings with my Macbook Pro or within FCP that I can adjust/customize to optimize the performance of FCP 5.1.3? I’ve searched the net, but haven’t come up with any info for that, if there is any at this time.

I think to be using Rosseta it can make a big difference. About how to keep your Mac_FC running well, have a look to the LAFCUG and Ken Stone web sites. They’ve got everything.
    Cheers,
