    Hey guys,

Anyone know how to have two meshes touching and one absorbs the texture from the other at the points where the objects are closest together?

I am using the PROXIMAL in the alpha channel to determine at what point the texture changes on one mesh but how would I go about “absorbing” the texture properties from the other mesh so the two meshes will visually blend more?…keeping in mind the texture to be absorbed is not a noise or abstract pattern, it has a definitive pattern in it. This pattern can be a bit distorted when it becomes absorbed but should still continue from the mesh from which it is originating,

    Hope this makes sense.

    Thanks,
    Brian

put two textures on the object the material should ‘bleed’ onto. One is the base one is a copy of the ‘other’ texture with a Proximal alpha so it only shows close to the ‘original’.

    1642_proximaltest.c4d.zip that’s R12 again, I can redo in 10.5 if needed.
