I know you can convert a camera from two nodes to one using the auto orient feature, but is there a way to take an already animated 2-node camera, and convert all it’s keyframe properties to that of a 1-node? preserving the technical “rotation” of the camera when it was looking at a point of interest?

In other words, I want to ditch my point of interest, and instead convert the animated camera to just have rotation values and position (keeping where the 2-node was pointing).

    Any help much appreciated!

Figured it out… Copied the original point of interest values to a null, then turned off the auto-orientation (making it a one-node). Then added an expression for the camera’s orientation: lookAt(transform.position,thisComp.layer(“Null 01”).transform.position).

This was ultimately to link the AE Camera to the DA Psunami plugin. I didn’t feel like re-doing my original 2-node motion path.

Did you not just replace your Point of Interest with a null? It seems like it would be the same thing, as far as position data goes. I haven’t used Psunami, but I’m guessing you can’t link it to the camera’s POI?

Good job on the work around though. Figuring out how to overcome limitations of a program is a skill in itself I believe.
