    Hi,

First time trying multiclip editing and have followed book, vids to get the two angles into multiclip and in timeline, but the audio from the vid/audio angle is not synching with the second angle… its off by half a second. Is this common? FCP agreed it was synched and made the multiclip. What would cause this? And dare I ask, how might I fix it? Could this be disk IO in playback mode only? Thanks!

When you made the multiclip, how did you set the sync? By timecode, begining of clip, etc?

Did you do a manual sync of the two angles in a timeline before making the multiclip, or were the timecodes synced in camera when you shot?

Are the frame rates of the two angles the same?

Walk us through what YOU did, because my guess is you may have just overlooked one little step here. And it probably wont be too hard to set right. Just dont try to edit the piece and fix it at the end.

Timecodes were synched on cams at shoot. I captured both clips using the exact same settings. Then I made them a multiclip using timecode to sync. I did not load them into the timeline until this had been done. Yes, frame rates identical.

In the meantime I loaded another interview shot with the same cams, same capture settings and it is running fine.

The only thing I can think of is there was a drop frame warning during the capture of one of the tapes… I think that must be the culprit, so I am going to recapture both clips NDF and see if that fixes it.

    Will report back.

    Thanks Kevin.

Yeah, it seems FCP might be up to its old tricks again. I hope the recapture works for you. If not, there may be some methods to cheat it right.

    Good luck.
