I’m doing a two camera shoot soon and will be editing multi cam. But we have to do two run throughs of the same scene to give it a 4 camera look. Four cams would be good but two it is unfortunately… should there be any problems with sync running those four streams together in a multi cam edit or any other unforseen problems?

Well if you are only running two cameras at the same time, only those two will line up when grouping them. Unless the actors do the exact same timing in every shot the won’t line up. You can group the 4 if you want to but only the ones shot at the same time will line up with each other.

    HI thanks…

Its a stretching/exercise dvd so I guess its not as critical in terms of voice
as that will be done as vo… I was thinking perhaps just do a 2 cam multi cam and then just shooting the second run through and editing that in just normally.

I was thinking also tho if u reset timecode on the second run thru and count them in 5 4 3 2 1 go (on both run thrus) u would get pretty close. dissolves could cover minor movement differences hopefully. what do u think?

Oh yea, if dialog isn’t a factor you can line it up. even if timecodes don’t match you can set your own in points and choose to sync by the in point instead of timecode.
