    Hello all, quick question.

1.Is it possible to cut and copy a clip without being in segment mode without moving the material behind down. I am not talking about dealing with overwrite mode at all. I am referring to not having either selected. I was for sure I did this before. I now go into segment mode, copy n paste clip and all material behind stays in place. Am I wrong, is this the only way to do it without moving getting other clips out of sync.

    2. Does sorenson import vob files. I have dvds that need to go into express pro. I currently import vobs into avid liquid then export as avi into express. Liquid doesn’t work will with quicktime. this is a long process, I would like to import into sorenson then export as quicktime for exp pro.

Sorry I don’t really follow you. What do you mean “without moving the material behind down?”

HI yea I guess I didn’t explain it that good. If I cut a clip at 1:30 sec and want to paste it at 2:30. I would like the material from 2:30 and on to not move but stay at its current position. I know if I do it in segment mode its fine. But can I do it without segment mode on.

Try adding video / audio tracks, then paste your footage onto those tracks. Just highlight the tracks you want to paste into.

In response to question 2, as of V 4.5 Sorenson Squeeze will not deal with .VOB files. V 5 may be different but I don’t believe it will play along.
