2 Atto R380 cards in one Mac Pro.
Anyone tried this?
We’ve tried putting 2 ATTO cards in a Quad Core Mac Pro.
Both in the 16 x slots.Each card has a dumb R8ML Proavio chassis connected to it.
Graphics card in slot 3
10 gb network card in slot 4ATTO seemed to think it should work.
In practise, it’s not working out.
Copies happen for a bit, then drives go grey in the sidebar.
System crashes, etc.Before we go any further, I thought it would be worth consulting the hive mind.
Thinking that if this doesn’t work, we might have a go with a linux box. But thought someone might have been up this alley before.
We have another video server, so this is going to be used as a live backup, and for AFX rendering… so we don’t have FCP reads and AFX writes happening at the same time…
Any thoughts?

it works fine. I just did this, today, this morning.

i’ve been running this config on a server for well over a year. no issues. the only suggestions that ATTO gave me were to make sure that the cards both had the same flash.
we copy files back at forth at full speed with no issues.
