Hi I am trying to move from my existing LTO-6 drive to LTO-7 instead of LTO-8 drive just because I have a lot of data storing in LTO-6 media.

I just have a doubt while checking Tandber 3512-LTO 1u rackmount where we can place two drives in one 19inch rack enclosure. Can I use two different generation drives in the same enclosure. If yes I can go for an 6th and 8th generation drive or 7th now and 9th generation drive later.

Please help me understand this if any one has already checked this.

The 1U rack mount enclosures don’t have any brains, so you can mix and match anything you want.
