I shot a 4 minute,9 event clip in 1920x1080i, using a Sony HDR-XR500 camera. I imported the AVCHD files into Vegas Pro 8 using 1920x1080i 60i, 8 bit pixel format, and “good” rendering quality as the property settings. I rendered the project in 1920x1080i with no problem. I then cross faded the events in the same project and attempted to rerender it using the same settings. The rendering process seemed to have a problem and shut down several times as it hit the cross fades. The error messages were always different,ie.”encountered an exception”,”cause unknown”, a message that Vegas stopped working, or the program would just close suddenly. I then rendered the same file with the cross fades using the same property settings, but used the 1440x1080i render setting. It worked fine. My computer is very powerful and shouldn’t be having a problem with this task. Do you think the addition of the cross fades was too much for my system or Vegas Pro 8 to handle? If so, any sugestions. Thanks!
