we just started producing spots in 16×9 rather than 4×3…

my problem is that in after effects when ram previewing…it’s clunky, slow, and seems like audio is off sync with video….

NEVER had this problem with 4×3…

is there something i can do to change this so it looks ‘normal’ when previewing, just like 4×3? or is it the simple fact that it’s now 864×486, and that the size is too large to render normally?

    thanks

are you viewing the preview on a broadcast monitor?

if so, you will probably need to modify those settings to get better ram preview performance when previewing…

to quickly check to see if the external preview is the problem, just disable it (preferences>video preview, set output device to computer only). then ram preview and see how that goes…

if you don’t have external monitoring, then i’m a little baffled that ae would choke on 16×9 sd… maybe you could describe the ‘clunkyness’ a bit more… is it slower than realtime playback, or something else…
