Hello all, what is the proper way to export a 16×9 file out from final cut pro. It was captured pal the masters are 16×9 digibetas. The project is in the line, but when I go to bounce files for the effects guys I seem to get 4×3 images. I have tried animation and png?? any help would be appreciated.

When you import the file make sure to “Interpret the footage” correctly.

meaning?? When in combustion I open the footage into the project and it is wrong??? I have to set the project first and I got it to work. But in motion from fcp and when I export out of final cut pro and open in any of these apps it seems to be wrong?? I have to be doing something wrong. in the work flow. well of course I am!!!!%Q@#%^

should you see something that says 16×9 in the quicktime settings if you exported it right?

    Hi

the problem is not the fcp export.
pal 16×9 from digibeta is anamorphic-meaning that the actual size of the frame
    is 720 x 576 (aka 4×3 “tall men”) it is only displayed in 16×9 (720 x 405 I think)
I dont remember how it works in combustion but in AE you have to tell
the app that the file is anamorphic (interpret footage >main>pixel aspect ratio>D1/DV pal widescreen(1.42))
I think there is similar footage/project settings in combustion.
