16×9 pal aspect ratio
Posted by Peter on July 7, 2005 at 1:12 amHello all, what is the proper way to export a 16×9 file out from final cut pro. It was captured pal the masters are 16×9 digibetas. The project is in the line, but when I go to bounce files for the effects guys I seem to get 4×3 images. I have tried animation and png?? any help would be appreciated.

July 7, 2005 at 9:10 amHi
the problem is not the fcp export.
pal 16×9 from digibeta is anamorphic-meaning that the actual size of the frame
is 720 x 576 (aka 4×3 “tall men”) it is only displayed in 16×9 (720 x 405 I think)
I dont remember how it works in combustion but in AE you have to tell
the app that the file is anamorphic (interpret footage >main>pixel aspect ratio>D1/DV pal widescreen(1.42))
I think there is similar footage/project settings in combustion.TJL
