16×9 ipod touch encoding restrictions
Hi,
I did several searches and nothing I’ve found is exactly answering my question. If I’ve missed it elsewhere, my apologies. What are the restrictions for exporting iPOD video using custom settings with Main Concept AVC? Messing with the custom export settings for the Main Concept AVC encoder has shown me that almost everything I try to do prevents the encoded video from being accepted by the ipod touch.
The Main Concept AVC presets in Vegas 8.0 are the only settings I can use that will successfully transfer the encoded video to the Touch. If I choose custom, the only setting I can change is the aspect ratio, and then only to 720×480. Any other changes (other than 720×480, 640×480, or 320×240) and the encoded video will not transfer to the ipod Touch.
I would really like to be able to set my own encoding bit rate, aspect ratios other than 720×480, 1/2 pass settings, profile, etc. to try and obtain a higher quality encode.
Is there another export module that would be better suited for exporting 16×9 video to the Touch?
